What sizes does the clothing come in?

Most pieces come in S to XL, and many go up to 2XL. Every product page has a size guide with garment measurements laid flat in centimetres, so you can compare them with a favourite piece you already own. Caps are one size.

Can I return merch?

Because merch is made to order, we don't accept returns for a change of mind. If an item arrives faulty, damaged or misprinted, email cs@aurasight.com.au with your order number and a photo and we'll replace it at our cost or refund you. See the returns terms; nothing in them limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Does eclipse merch protect my eyes?

No. Clothing, caps and posters are not eye protection. For every minute of the eclipse, from first contact to last contact, wear certified ISO 12312-2 eclipse glasses, totality included.

Eclipse glasses and eye safety

What does ISO 12312-2:2015 actually test?

Transmission of visible light, ultraviolet and infrared through the filter, plus the uniformity of the filter, its resistance to damage, and the labelling. A compliant filter passes no more than 0.0032 percent of visible light and blocks almost all UV and IR. Sunglasses pass several thousand times more light than that.

Who tested your eclipse glasses?

ICS Laboratories in the United States, an A2LA-accredited testing laboratory, against ISO 12312-2:2015. The filter is retested every five years. The glasses are also CE-certified under EU PPE Regulation 2016/425 by Notified Body 2834, valid to May 2031. Each unit carries a QR code so you can confirm the batch and certification, and the test report is available on request. See certification.

How do I know eclipse glasses are safe?

Look for the ISO 12312-2 mark and the manufacturer's name on the frame, ask to see the test report from an accredited laboratory, and check the lenses for scratches, creases or pinholes. A lamp test helps: through safe glasses a bright household bulb looks very dim or invisible.

How can I tell if the ISO certification on my glasses is fake?

A printed ISO 12312-2 mark is easy to copy. Ask the seller for the test report from an accredited laboratory and check that the lab and product match. Glasses that let you see ordinary indoor lights or your surroundings clearly are not safe, whatever the label says.

Do my eclipse glasses stay on during totality?

Yes. Wear certified ISO 12312-2 eclipse glasses for the whole eclipse, from first contact to last contact, including totality. Outside the path, the Sun is never fully covered, and the glasses stay on the whole time there too.

Can I use sunglasses or welding glass to watch the eclipse?

No. Sunglasses, even very dark ones, pass thousands of times too much light. Welding glass is only safe at shade 14 or darker, and most welding glass is lighter than that. Smoked glass, X-ray film and camera filters are not safe.

Can children wear eclipse glasses?

Yes, with an adult supervising. Check the glasses fit and cover both eyes, and make sure the child keeps them on for the whole eclipse. Schools can use our eclipse safety plan.

How much do eclipse glasses cost in Australia?

Certified paper eclipse glasses usually cost a few dollars a pair. Ours are A$5.45 a pair including GST, a family kit of four pairs and a viewing guide is A$19.25 including GST, and groups get a quote for their numbers.

When should I buy eclipse glasses for 22 July 2028?

Before July 2028. Glasses take weeks to make and supply is finite, so stock runs short and fake glasses appear close to the date. Households should order by the end of June 2028; schools before their last school day before the eclipse; events and custom-branded orders several months ahead.

Do you ship eclipse glasses outside NSW?

Yes. Stock is held in NSW and ships Australia-wide. Delivery is A$9.95, free on orders over A$150, and is shown at checkout before you pay.

The 22 July 2028 eclipse

What date is the 2028 solar eclipse in Australia?

Saturday 22 July 2028. The partial eclipse begins around 9:20am AWST in the Kimberley and ends at about 3:15pm AEST on the NSW coast. See the 2028 eclipse guide.

Will Sydney see a total solar eclipse in 2028?

Where is the best place in Australia to see the 2028 eclipse?

For the longest totality, the Kimberley in Western Australia, where it lasts up to 5 minutes 10 seconds and July is the dry season. For the easiest trip, Sydney, the Blue Mountains and central-west NSW all get more than three and a half minutes near the centre line. See the eclipse map.
